The Dragon

The week leading up to Memorial Day, I drove to my parent's house some 16 hours from my own and had a lovely relaxing week, punctuated only by a truly awful car-buying experience. I won't go into the details because they are mostly either boring or they make me mad, but suffice it to say it was 9 hours of my life that I would really love to have back.

At any rate, as horrible as the buying experience was, I LOVE my new car. It is a Nissan Juke, which no one on the planet has ever heard of except Nissan and the people who happen to own them. Personally, I think it looks a bit like a dragon, and thus I refer to it as 'the dragon'. I've never been one to give cars names, but I like the idea of Velma the Witch riding a Dragon.

After driving a Jeep for many years, I had forgotten what it's like to have a car that actually goes when you put the pedal down. It's a bit like making the jump to light speed in Star Wars if you ask me...fun and terrifiying all at the same time. I love it!
(I should point out that the Dragon is not this color, nor does it have the uber-cool British liscence plate, but it was the most dragon-y angle I could find of the car. Don't you think it looks kinda like a dragon? Complete with flaring nostrils! No, I'm not crazy, I promise!)

  1. Ah it's awesome! I was actually looking at getting the Juke back in December. The two things that kept me from it was the fact it takes premium and it's a first year model. I ended up getting the Kia Forte 5 door. But I know what you mean about the get up and go... 11 years of driving a ford escort with no real pep and getting something with zoom takes some getting used to.

  2. the car is adorable !! and I can see why you named it Dragon... I had a van I named Nutmeg... I did some body work, and the 3rd ex decided to "help" me by spraying it with paint...he used my nutmeg craft paint... it didn't last, but the name did... and the van went the way of the dinosaurs as he did..lol.. So I got a big ole conversion van with a bed, TV/VCR in the back..and travel now...best trade off I ever made !!

  3. It's a frog. Not a dragon. I thought we covered this?

  4. It is most definitly NOT a frog. If you said that to its face I think it would eat you.
